Mediscan Systems Diagnostic Ultrasound Research & Training Centre

The focal point of Mediscan as an institution has always been training and teaching ever since its inception. Driven by this undying passion for training and imparting knowledge, Dr Suresh and Dr Indrani Suresh have together trained about 3500 doctors from 1988 until 2022. Many of these who are doctors from government institutions have since gone back to their positions and are imparting the benefit of their training to medical professionals in the areas concerned. Our trainees who are from across India and from different parts of the world continue to enjoy a special relationship with the parent institution till date.

Highlights of our training

• Mediscan Systems along with Fernandez Hospital, Hyderabad, provides training for the only post-doctoral training program for High Risk Pregnancy and Perinatology conducted by the National Board of Examinations from 2001. Trainees do a six-month rotational training with Mediscan during their 2 year training program.
• MediScan Systems is the only training institution approved by the Royal College of Gynaecologists, London (RCOG) for training in advanced obstetric ultrasound leading to a Diploma in obstetric ultrasound (RCOG RCR) ( years ..)
• All training programs conducted at Mediscan Systems were accredited by Asia Oceania Federation of OBGYN Society (AOFOG) ( years .. )
• Mediscan in association with M/s Advanced Technology Laboratories USA, instituted a six-month fellowship program in Ultrasound from 1996 to 2001 which aimed at training physicians in colour doppler and other advanced ultrasound techniques. This fellowship was awarded to six physicians during this period.
• Today Mediscan is the most sought-after training institution by post graduates from various medical institutions for guidance in their projects. Student associates of B Tech, M Tech and Ph D from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Anna University, Satyabhama College, Chennai, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, J C College, Mysore and post graduates from various institutions are given guidance by Dr Suresh and his able team members in their research projects. Mediscan has also provided support for students of MD of the Government Women and Children’s Hospital, Chennai.
