Mediscan organizes a national level conference every two years to innovate new technical practices that transform the clinical assessment through the sharing of knowledge and training next gen sonologists and technicians.
The Fourteenth Clinical Ultrasonography in Practice (CUSP 2014), a National level biennial conference with the theme “Towards Achieving Excellence” was held in Chennai between 25th to 28th September 2014. The venue was a spacious Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam. 828 ultrasound professionals from across the country gathered to discuss issues, ideas and work together for best practice in ultrasound. The first two day workshops, next two day conference and all four days exhibition show casing ultrasound equipment, clinical and social research projects and other marketing exhibits like handloom, artefacts and jewelry. Main attention was given to Fetal Care Research Foundation, a charity for supporting prenatal diagnosis for the underprivileged and enrolling obstetricians to Birth Defects Registry of India which collects hospital based data on the incidence of birth defects
Five International and 61 National faculty delivered their lectures in this mentorship event and 828 delegates received knowledge and training that helped their career advancement. Prizes were given for best poster, paper and oral presentations. This huge ultrasound mela was sponsored by ultrasound equipment manufacturing companies and credited with 6 points by the Tamil Nadu Medical Council which is a stamp of success for the conference.
